Concrete Densification & Hardening for Commercial Floors
As an authorised Oxtek applicator, we use a premium colloidal silica densifier that penetrates the slab and chemically reacts from within - backed by a 15-year manufacturer warranty. Permanent hardening for warehouses, workshops, retail floors, and high-traffic commercial spaces. No coatings. No peeling. No recoat cycles.
Supplied by the best names in the industry:

How Densification Works
A colloidal silica densifier penetrates the top few millimetres of your slab and chemically reacts with the calcium hydroxide inside it to form calcium silicate hydrate (CSH) - the same compound that gives concrete its strength. The result is a denser, harder, more abrasion-resistant surface that lasts the lifetime of the slab.
Surface Hardening
The chemical reaction hardens the top 3–5mm of your slab, dramatically increasing abrasion and impact resistance for forklifts, pallet jacks, vehicles, and heavy foot traffic.
Dust-Free Floors
Densification fills micro-pores and locks down loose particles at the surface, stopping concrete dust at the source. Cleaner air, easier housekeeping, and fewer maintenance complaints.
Permanent Treatment
Densification doesn’t sit on top of your concrete - it becomes part of it. There’s no film to peel, no recoat schedule, and no maintenance cycle. Once it’s in, it’s in for the lifetime of the slab.
Built for Commercial Use
From distribution centres in Acacia Ridge to workshops on the Gold Coast and retail floors on the Sunshine Coast - we densify slabs from a single bay up to 10,000m²+ across South East Queensland.

FAQs
Common questions about concrete densification.
Yes - we're an authorised Oxtek applicator. Oxtek manufactures the colloidal silica densification system we use, and they've trained and certified our team on application protocols, surface prep, and coverage rates. When the job qualifies (correct prep, correct coverage, documented application), Oxtek issues a written 15-year manufacturer warranty against dusting, surface deterioration, and abrasion failure under normal commercial use. The warranty is on the chemistry - Oxtek stands behind the product, we stand behind the workmanship, and you get both in writing on completion.
Densification is a permanent chemical hardening treatment for concrete floors. We apply a colloidal silica densifier that penetrates the top few millimetres of the slab and reacts with the calcium hydroxide inside it to form calcium silicate hydrate (CSH) - the same compound that gives concrete its strength. The result is a denser, harder, more abrasion-resistant surface that’s also dust-free and easier to clean.
A sealer sits on top of the concrete or just inside the pores to repel water and stains. A densifier chemically reacts with the slab to make the concrete itself harder and denser. The two are complementary: densification handles wear, hardness, and dust; sealing handles staining and chemical resistance. Many commercial floors get both - densified first, then sealed.
It’s permanent. Densification chemically becomes part of the slab, so there’s no film to wear off and no recoat cycle. Burnishing and basic floor maintenance keep the surface looking and performing its best, but the densification itself doesn’t need to be reapplied.
Warehouses, distribution centres, workshops, manufacturing facilities, retail floors, showrooms, garages, gyms, and any high-traffic commercial slab where wear, dust, and longevity matter. It also works on residential garages and polished concrete living areas. We can densify new pours after they’ve cured (typically 14–28 days) or existing slabs in any condition.
Only subtly. Densification doesn’t add a coating or change the colour of your concrete. After burnishing, you’ll typically see a slight natural sheen and a more uniform appearance, but the floor still reads as raw concrete. If you want a glossy finish, we pair densification with a topical sealer or polish.
Yes. We grind and clean the slab first to open the pores and remove any contaminants, then apply the densifier. Older slabs often benefit the most because they’re already showing wear, dust, or surface deterioration that densification directly addresses.
We profile and clean the slab with a planetary grinder, apply the colloidal silica densifier with low-pressure sprayers, and work it into the surface with microfibres or burnishing pads. After the chemical reaction cures (a few hours), we burnish the floor to lock in maximum hardness and a subtle natural sheen. For most jobs the floor is back in service the same day or the next morning.
Application is fast - we can typically densify 500–1,000m² in a working day depending on slab condition. The floor is walkable within hours and ready for full traffic within 24 hours. For live commercial sites we offer after-hours and staged applications to keep your operation running.
Pricing depends on slab area, condition, prep required, and access. As a rough guide, most commercial densification projects fall between $15 and $40 per square metre, with larger areas at the lower end. We provide a clear written quote after an on-site assessment so you know the full scope and price up front.
Yes. The products we use are water-based, low-VOC, and non-toxic once cured. They’re safe for indoor commercial environments including food-handling facilities and warehouses with active staff. There’s no solvent smell and no hazardous run-off during application.
